Case Study: Training Center of the National Association of Computer Teachers
The National Association of Informatics Teachers (ANPRI), with its training center, has had as its main activity the training of informatics teachers. The Training Center of the National Association of Informatics Teachers (CF-ANPRI) was established in 2014 and is accredited as a training entity by the Scientific-Pedagogical Council for Ongoing Teacher Training, but also as a training entity validated by the Regional Directorate of Education of the Region Autonomous Region of Madeira and the Azores.
The Training Center uses several open source tools, namely the training and teaching platform (Moodle) for the management, organization and dynamization of training actions, allowing it to reach all teachers, including those who are physically farther away. The implemented projects are themselves also based on open source technologies, such as Robot Anprino. This Robot takes advantage of low-cost hardware, block programming and 3D printing to make programming and robotics easy for everyone. In terms of programming, this is based on a model that is easy to understand, intuitive and accessible to use, with blocks for younger students, but which can be converted into code programming for secondary and professional students.
