How to attend a Colibri event without installing the Zoom application
ESOP warned of to the lack of freedom of choice, the impacts on citizens' computer security and the possible failure of the FCCN to comply with the Open Standards Law by allowing the Colibri platform, used in public academic events, to not explain how we can participate in these events without installing a proprietary application that has already had security problems
The tutorial they provide (attend the meeting via browser) is not correct, and even following the suggested steps, it is not possible to access the events.
However, this possibility exists and for that ESOP prepared this tutorial that explains in three steps how to watch or participate in a Colibri event without installing the Zoom application.
Go to https://zoom.us/
Access the “SIGN UP, IT'S FREE” button, in the upper right corner, and fill in the requested data.
Activate account:
Through the email received at the address previously provided. Follow the suggested steps, filling in the requested information.
Go to https://zoom.us/signin
Enter the Zoom credentials (created in point 1 above).
With the Zoom login already done:
Access the Colibri link you want to participate, which will open a page similar to the image on the side.
You must select:
"Enter your browser", confirm your name (which will be presented at this event / meeting) and select "Enter".
